We have a few more weeks of summer to go before the kids head back to school, so if you’re looking for novel ways to stay productive, I’ve got the perfect idea! Amazon Handmade just launched Camp Handmade, a virtual four-week event filled with crafting workshops online that’s fun for the whole family.

During the Camp Handmade event, Amazon Handmade will highlight select Makers from around the globe who sell their handcrafted goods on the platform. Each Maker will lead workshops that you can tune into. You can also listen to fireside chats about their small business journey! With each workshop, you can purchase curated DIY kits that allow you to follow along in the virtual workshop, ranging from candle-making kits to flower painting and more. The video tutorials for all the workshops are free – you just have to purchase the necessary supplies underneath the videos.

Since the event just kicked off, I wanted to briefly share some of the crafts that you can take on right now.

Banter & Bliss: DIY Scented Candles

You guys know I’m a sucker for scented candles and have always dreamt of making my own but never knew where to start. I was really excited about this workshop by Banter & Bliss, a candle company based in San Pedro, CA. The owner, Sheena, walks through all the steps needed create your own candle, including, melting the max and the proper technique for adding fragrances to the wax and pouring it into a jar.

Live By Being: DIY Floral Salt Soak

If you want to promote relaxation in your life, then you need to try this Floral Salt Soak workshop with Live By Being, a wellness brand based in Houston, TX. The founder gives you the blueprint to mixing your own own self-care soak to use at home. These soaks make great gifts too!

Sheep Farm Felt: DIY Needle Felt Hedgehog

Here’s a workshop I’m sure the little ones will really enjoy. Megan, the founder, teaches you how to create an adorable felt hedgehog using a needle felting technique and eco-friendly fabrics. It’s a beginner-friendly project that the family can enjoy together.

Rebeca Flott Arts: DIY Flower Painting

Another family-friendly workshop is flowering painting with Rebeca Flott Arts. In this virtual workshop, you’ll learn how to use basic paints to create a masterpiece of hydrangeas.

Camp Handmade is currently live and will run through Saturday, August 15. Be sure to keep checking in for new workshops that kick off!
