HOW TO ROCK THE BOILER SUIT TREND

Date: Posted on Category: Fashion, Outfit, Tips/Trends Location:
If there’s one piece that I saw on repeat during fashion week, it was the the boiler suit. All the famous street style stars must have been caught rocking this piece at least once – and many of them had their own unique take on styling it (myself included). Though it’s been in heavy circulation since summer, I honestly believe that fall is the perfect time to put it in test drive because, as temperatures dip, you’ll surely need more coverage. Scroll on for four practical ways to wear the boiler suit trend this season.

1. With metallic boots and oversized earrings

The boiler suit is relaxed, comfortable, and statement making on its own, especially if you accessorize the right way. For me, that involves oversized earrings and metallic boots (also love these – and they’re on sale!). Metallic accessories can instantly transform the boiler suit into a night out look – just leave a few buttons undone.

Tucking trousers into knee-high boots were a major thing late last year and the trend has shifted into boiler suits too. I’m a big believer that in order for this trend to work, the waistline should be very defined – either with a belt you add or one that comes with the suit. Among the fashion set, western and snakeskin boots took the cake.

Boiler suits come in many versions this season. I find that cropped styles look better on petite sizes like me – and they’re so chic and sophisticated with pointed toe heels. This works for regular length boiler suits too – you might just have to roll it up a few times towards the ankles. If you’re feeling bold enough, you can even wear two trends at once by opting for leopard pumps, and when temperatures take a drastic turn, add a thin turtleneck underneath.

4. With a cool coat & sneakers

The photo above was snapped off the Tibi runway during FW19 show – and as you can see, boiler suits work with cool jackets layered on top as well. Whether you opt for a trench coat or a puffer, you can can add lace up boots or sneakers for an understated, everyday outfit.
